Outside​

Throughout the day, the children explore their psychomotor skills and sensory development through various activities organised by the teaching staff and periods of free play, always under adult supervision.

  • Daily walks in pushchairs around the neighbourhood and its many parks

  • In the playground with a sandpit, ball games, bikes, water play in summer and snow play in winter, and a snack

  • Outings to the nursery’s family garden: a space designed to let children roam freely in a dedicated outdoor environment. Vegetable patch, herb garden, flower beds, games, barefoot trail, picnics.

  • Occasional trips to the Théâtre Jeune Public in Strasbourg

  • End-of-year outing

  • Outings to the Robertsau Media Centre

  • Learning about daily life, including its group activities and routines (meals, naps, outings)

  • Musical awareness

  • Gym: the older children go once a week to a dedicated gym. Obstacle courses, games, races… all designed to develop and refine their motor skills whilst having fun

  • Support for community living

  • Sensory development: workshops that engage the senses, such as painting, exploring different textures (play dough, sand, shaving foam, etc.), sensory trails, music sessions, ‘Taste Week’…

  • Physical development: motor skills blocks, trampolines, tunnels, motor skills courses, yoga…

  • Free play: children choose how they want to play and what they want to play with

  • Language and communication: reading sessions, Kamishibai storytelling, sign language, library membership, nursery rhymes…
